[What?]

An infant stimulation and basic school-readiness program in which children (birth-age 5) can learn and develop while their parents are attending New Moms program activities.  The program offers hands-on assessment of child abuse/neglect indicators and child health. 

[How?]

• Daily structured lesson plans within month-long themes
• Separate modules for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
• Parent-child interaction activities
• Ongoing basic health/social/behavioral screenings

[2008 Accomplishments]

• New Kids provided more than 6,500 hours of children’s programming.
  • In 2007 and 2008, 134 children received Denver II Developmental Screenings to ensure that they are developing normally.
