Residential Program Aide

Responsibilities: To act as an advocate, educator, coach and role model for our participants. Model daily responsible living, healthy interpersonal relationships and communications skills. Plan and facilitate 2-3 weekly family events for participants and their children. (Schedules open: Sat & Sun 10am-8pm & Mon-Fri 2pm-7pm)

Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age. High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, if non degreed, has at least 2 years experience. Familiarity with inner city and teen issues. Able to work in a multicultural setting. Ability to work a semi-flexible schedule. Able to lift and move up to 40 lbs. Professionally represent the New Moms’ Christian values to staff, community and participants.

Residential Program Specialist

Responsibilities: Maintain a caseload of 2-3 clients. Perform daily routine apartment checks. Maintains residential supply inventory. Assist with preparation for parent support group and house meetings. Assist participants in planning, shopping, and cooking for support groups. (Schedules open: Sunday 11pm-8am & Mon-Fri 5pm-10:30pm)

Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age. High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, if non degreed, has at least 2 years experience. Familiarity with inner city and teen issues. Able to work in a multicultural setting. Ability to work a semi-flexible schedule. Able to lift and move up to 40 lbs. Professionally represent the New Moms’ Christian values to staff, community and participants.

Internships

The following positions are unpaid internships. College credits are available based on completion of collegiate requirements. We accept interns for three periods during the year: Fall Semester, Spring Semester, and Summer. Start and end dates are negotiable based on student schedules. While we are happy to accept interns from outside the chicagoland area, New Moms is unable to provide housing.

  • Residential Intern - Intern will work at our Cooperative Living Program shelter, gaining experience in case management, group facilitation, and participant intake, as well as the myriad other responsibilities of our CLP staff.

  • Non-Residential Intern - Intern will gain experience across a multitude of non-residential programs, including Parents Too Soon, home visitation, and child care. This intern will also work with our Human Resources department and take on administrative tasks.
